Lavinia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business.

Lavinia's story

Lavinia just turned 50 years old. She is a mother of two grown-ups, and her husband works as a farmer. They live at their own home on the island of Vava'u.

Lavinia joined five other women in their neighborhood, and together they run a weaving business. They weave at Lavinia's home. Mainly, they weave mats with brown pandnus only. They all benefit from their weaving because there are many of them, and they weave and finish mats faster and weave more. Not only that, but they also help one another and there is no need to hire more helpers.

Lavinia sells her weaving to her relatives overseas and also at the local market. She is hoping to use her loan money to buy pandanus for her weaving.

Her dream is for her two grown-up children to have opportunities in the future and be able to survive on their own.
