A loan helped to build a household latrine.

Saro's story

Saro is 35, married, and has three lovely children who are attending school. She makes every effort with her tasks to earn to live by selling fruit juice. She earns a net income of only USD 5 per day and that's very barely enough to cover her family's daily costs.

Her husband helps her to increase the family's economy by having an occupation in construction service. Her husband is very serious and honest with clients and works more than eight hours every day.

As of now, she has applied for for a loan of KHR 6,000,000 to build a household latrine. With this loan support, she will have enough funds to purchase construction supplies and pay for labor costs.

The water loan program offered by HKL with a special interest rate has helped to encourage Saro to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family and protect the environment.
