A loan helped to hire workers to help her husband with harvesting crops and to plow the soil for the next planting.

Fipe's story

Meet Fipe, a 50-year-old mother of 10 adult children. Her husband is a farmer. Fipe and her husband operate a business of growing and selling crops, which they have been doing for many years as their primary source of income. Some of her adult children are now married and have started their own lives, but some still remain at home. Fipe’s business continues to operate without fail.

On her farm, Fipe grows a variety of crops such as taro, cassava, and yams. She always seeks out financial support from SPBD and says she has done well with her previous loans. Fipe will use the money from this loan to hire workers to help her husband with harvesting crops and to plow the soil for the next planting.
