Yerlin Yanith's story

Yerlin Yanith is an entrepreneurial 22-year-old who lives in the city of Barranquilla, where she owns a business making and selling furniture both wholesale and retail.

She started this business three years ago with the support of her partner. Over time, she has modernized her business with new machinery and tools in order to keep up with trends.

She sells to chain stores, local individuals, and people who are referred to her. She had to stop working because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and her income fell drastically. Her desire is to resume her work with biosafety measures in place while still offering her customers a unique experience.

She is currently managing her first Kiva loan through the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo with the goal of investing in biosafety equipment and supplies such as wood, nails, a saw, plywood, and rubber.
