Diapo Boustane Lo Group's story

Madam Rocky is the president of the Diapo Boustane Lo Group (their name means Union). This loan will collectively help the 20 members of the group, 19 women and 1 man. They all work in agriculture.

Madam Rocky is featured above with her hand on the seed driller. She is 53 years old, married, and the mother of three children between the ages of 8 and 12. All her children attend school.

Madam Rocky has worked in agriculture for the past 30 years. She purchases seeds from the local weekly markets and resells her harvest there later. With this loan, she plans to purchase peanut seeds, planting machines, and fertilizer as well as pay laborers.

Madam Rocky's dream is to use her job to achieve financial autonomy for her family's wellbeing. With the revenue from her harvest, she will help her husband cover their family's living expenses, particularly for their children. She contributes the majority of their tuition fees, their food, and also their medical expenses.

The only problem Madam Rocky faces in her job is that the type of crops she grows are totally dependent on rainfall.
