Jorge Lenni's story

Jorge Lenni and his family live in the city of Tosagua, a place where agriculture and cattle raising form the basis of its economy. Like the rest of the country it was affected a great deal by Covid-19.

Jorge is a very hardworking man. Along with his family he seeks a way to make a living in light of the difficult situation caused by Covid. Before the pandemic he worked every day as a custodian in a local school. He now only works one day, which has caused his income to decline.

Nevertheless, Jorge continues in in his family's business. They work making tongas [a hearty meal of rice, chicken and fried sweet plantains, covered in peanut sauce and garnished with cilantro], empanadas, fried cheese and mortadella sticks, and other traditional dishes. They work only through orders and home deliveries. This is how they move forward, hoping that things get better. This loan is to buy chicken, flours, cheeses, cold cuts and other ingredients, as well as containers for deliveries.
