Jappo De Leona Group's story

Ms. Khady is the president of the group Jappo de Leona, which means Union of Leona in the national Senegalese language. This group comprises five women who run small business for various products (vegetables, fruits, seafood, fish, etc.).

Ms. Khady is 34 years old, married, and the mother of four children, ages four to twelve. Three of them attend school. She has been a businesswoman for more than ten years; her business is creditworthy.

For her portion of the loan, Ms Khady plans to buy fish and vegetables to improve her table so that she can meet customer demand. She restocks in bulk in the region's central market to resell in her local market.

This loan will allow her to increase her business and to improve the standard of living for her family, especially her children, in the areas of education, health, and clothing. As far as the challenges she faces, she can cite the competition and the creditworthiness of some of her customers.

Her greatest desire is to become self-sufficient so that she no longer has take out loans from microfinance institutions.
