A loan helped a single mom to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer for use on her crop farm so she can earn greater profits to improve her standard of living.

Daisy's story

Greetings from Eldoret, Kenya!

Daisy, 42, is a single mom who is honest and has a charming character. She is the mother of four lovely school going children and is a rural smallholder farmer from the area of Eldoret, Kenya.

Her main income source is milk from her dairy farm, however, she is also involved in other agricultural activities such as growing corn and other grains.

The biggest problem that farmers from her village face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers’ yields and incomes are far below what they could be.

Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from her village, like Daisy, can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms. Daisy is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer to improve her farm.

Your loan will enable her to improve her crop production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her meet the increasing demand for crops in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan and improve her family's quality of life.

Daisy heavily relies on the goodwill of lenders so that she can achieve her dreams. Take action and lend now!
