Roseline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for crop cultivation.

Roseline's story

Greetings from Kericho, Kenya.

Roseline (the 42-year-old mom of 4 school going children pictured holding her last born who is yet to start school) is a hardworking farmer from a remote village in the Kitale area of Kenya. She is a borrower who has a great credit history. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a good-quality education. She is always working to improve her family's living conditions.

Roseline has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock. She also earns additional income from a personal business. She never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle. The Kericho area is a favourable one for farming.

Roseline requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo for KES 30,000, which she will use to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her area, is very challenging, but Roseline feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself.

Roseline is thankful to Juhudi Kilimo and its lenders for this financial assistance, which will help her attain a secure future.
