Faith's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and certified seeds, to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Faith's story

Born 35 years ago, Faith is the mother of two school-going children. She resides in Kerugoya, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands that favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and crop farming.

Through farming, she has gained so much recognition in her village, and she is proud of that. Faith has sent all her children to school. She works hard to pay all the required school fees.

Faith has a farm where she grows crops and raises pigs and different livestock. She also earns some income from a personal business. She never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle.

The Kerugoya area is a favourable one for farming, so Faith is seeking a 30,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner Juhudi Kilimo. She will use it to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and certified seeds, to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her area, is very challenging. Faith feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva and the wonderful lenders that help hardworking women like her. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dreams are to become independent and support her parents and children by herself.

Faith is so thankful to lenders in advance for believing and contributing to her dreams.
