A loan helped to buy seeds to improve her crop farming.

Veronica's story

Veronica, pictured in her simple house, is 44 and a mother from rural Limuru, Kenya, who wants a bright future for her family. She works on her land and sells her crops in the local market.

She decided to start mixed farming with the hope of giving her family a better quality of life. Veronica's desire to get ahead is admirable because, despite her age and the obstacles she's experienced, she doesn't reduce her efforts to achieve her objective. What she sets out to do, she achieves.

With her profits, she's managed to take care of her family's needs. Veronica wants to reap more profits by taking advantage of her area's favorable weather patterns, the good road network in her village, good soil and a ready market for crop products.

She's seeking a loan of 50,000 KES to buy seeds and improve her crops. Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva to help hardworking moms like Veronica make their farming dreams come to reality, through training and loan financing.
