Peggy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy high-turnover merchandise, such as waterproof fabric for making surgical masks.

Peggy's story

In Barranquilla, Peggy has a dressmaking business. With the exception of leather garments, she makes unisex clothing, sportswear, children's clothing, cocktail and casual dresses, and school uniforms.

Peggy began this business about 20 years ago, thanks to her husband who gave her the gift of her first sewing machine. She also worked as a dressmaker's assistant, where she acquired experience, and thanks to some savings, she bought an industrial sewing machine. In this way, she grew independently, and ended up forming her own business. Her customers are stores, neighbors, friends, people referred to her and other people from the area.

Currrently, her occupation has deteriorated due to the Covid 19 pandemic and to questions of public health, and, as a result, her production has decreased and her profits as well. For this reason, she is requesting her first Kiva loan, through Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo, to buy wholesale, high-turnaround merchandise such as waterproof fabric to make surgical masks. Support her in her loan for her business.
