Total loan: $300

Kaduna, KD, Nigeria / Agriculture

Imrana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase improved farm inputs that will increase farm yield.

Imrana's story

Imrana lives with his family in an ordinary mud house in a small village in Kaduna state. In his community, farming is the primary occupation.

Like many diligent smallholders, Imrana dreams of expanding his farm business. Due to lack of access to quality inputs, it has become difficult for farmers like Imrana to achieve high yields so as to make higher income. Luckily, as a Babban Gona member, and because of this loan, Imrana will be provided with higher-yielding seeds that are locally adapted and widely accepted in his local community. He will also have the recommended pesticides and fertilizers based on the results of his field assessment. This will enable Imrana to optimize his yield, thereby attaining yields of up to 2 times the national average in Nigeria.

With lenders' support to grow his farming business, Imrana is looking forward to a bountiful harvest. He plans to use the profits from this season’s harvest to build a better house for his family and open an agro-dealer shop.
