A loan helped to build a household latrine.

Chantha's story

Chantha, age 27, is a resident who lives with her family, which includes her husband and two children, in Preah Sdach district, Prey Veng province.

She started her business in agriculture many years ago. She plants and harvests rice and potatoes two seasons of the year. From the business income, she is able to support her standard of living and send all of her children to school. She is very happy because her husband is a good business partner. She aims to make improvements to her business and pursue a better living standard.

Since she doesn't have a safe latrine for use at home, she is unable to help her family members improve their sanitation and personal hygiene. Thus, she has requested a loan of 500 USD to build a household latrine.

Thanks to the water loan program offered by HKL with a special interest rate, she is encouraged to focus on healthy living conditions, safeguard the health of her family, and protect the environment.
