Halliru's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase improved inputs in order to get a good harvest and enhance living standards.

Halliru's story

Halliru, who is 30 years of age and married with two children, lives in a rural town in Kaduna, Nigeria. He lives in a small community where maize farming is the major occupation and means of livelihood. Due to lack of access to quality seeds it has become difficult for farmers to achieve high yields to make a higher income.

Halliru is requesting a loan to buy high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs for his maize farming operations. Halliru wants to double last year’s yield so that he can attract more customers thereby increasing his revenue. At the end of the season, Halliru plans to use the profits he earns from his harvest to pay his children's school fees and enhance their standard of living.

Halliru looks forward to living in an improved house and to many more abundant harvests. He believes that by continuing to work with Babban Gona, this will help him earn up to three times in net income, compared to the national average, from selling his maize to premium buyers. Through his loans, Halliru feels more empowered to expand his maize farming operations thereby becoming a successful farmer.
