Glenda Lucrecia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase coconuts and lemons to continue selling in the sector.

Glenda Lucrecia's story

Glenda Lucrecia is 41 years old, married, and has 3 children, ages 22, 14, and 5. She lives with her entire family in Río Chico, La Balsita sector (Portoviejo, Manabí). Its inhabitants work in agriculture and selling livestock. It is a sector well-known in the country for its lovely landscapes and friendly and hard-working people.

Glenda Lucrecia and her spouse have worked for 25 years in buying and selling coconuts and lemons. They make the rounds to the different sectors delivering the product to the residents.

During the quarantine mandated by the government due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their business was undermined. Little by little, they sought the way to sell the products they had stored and, at the times they were allowed to go out, they sold the coconuts, with all the precautions to prevent illness.

With the loan from the foundation, Glenda Lucrecia and her spouse will invest in the purchase of coconuts and lemons to continue selling in the sector.

Glenda Lucrecia hopes that the situation will improve and that her children will finish their education and become good professionals and that they will not lack the health to continue working.
