A loan helped to buy millet for resale.

Gpf Diamaguene Group's story

Fatou is president of the group "GPF Diamaguene" which translates into French as "La Paix Veut Tout". She is 55, married and has two children aged between 10 and 16 who are both in school.
This loan is for a group of seven women who trade in various different products. Fatou plans to use her part of the loan to buy millet and corn which she will transform into couscous to be resold. She stocks up in the markets in town to resell in those same markets. She has been in this business for over 10 years.
This loan will enable her to increase her activity and better diversify her products in order to improve her income. The effects of this will help her improve the standard of living of her family and children by way of education, health and clothing.
Some of the difficulties she has with her business are credit advances given to customers which are repaid on time.
Her wish is to have her own shop in order to have stability and to export her goods to other regions, particularly Dakar where demand is higher. This would really improve income and cover the school fees for her children.
