Total loan: $475

Molo, Nakuru County, Kenya / Agriculture

Beatrice's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farm inputs (hybrid seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer) to produce a good harvest that will support her family needs.

Beatrice's story

Beatrice (a repeat borrower) is a vibrant mother who is focused on improving her standard of living and that of her family. She is the breadwinner in her household.

Beatrice (pictured alongside her child) is also characterized by her sense of responsibility, her self-sacrifice, and her love for her work, her farm, and her cute children. She lives in Molo, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and horticultural farming.

In Kenya, agriculture is one of the most competitive industries, especially due to the high cost of operations necessary to improve farming. Such costs include the cost of land acquisition and inputs, which have always skyrocketed. To meet the high costs of inputs, farmers have been forced to borrow from financial institutions, which sometimes impose very complicated procedures in loan distribution. Some farmers, especially women, end up hopeless, despondent, and lacking in morale to invest in agriculture.

Beatrice has used this loan to buy farming inputs, such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizer, to improve her output, make more sales revenue, and raise her family's standard of living.

Please lend to this industrious woman, so that she can save for her children's education.
