Marisela Del Socorro's story

Years ago, Marisela decided to start a business that would generate income to defray household expenses and put food on the table. She began with growing melon and a small general store. In beginning as an agricultural woman, she had the unconditional support of her husband. Her child is proud to have an exemplary, determined mother, who does not let herself be defeated by any circumstance.

Thanks to the support received from MiCrédito and Kiva through a loan, she bought agricultural supplies and baskets for her melon crop. At this time, she is pleased because she had good production, and began a grocery store. She again is returning to the two organizations for a loan to buy rice, beans, sugar, oil, detergent, sardines, shampoo, coffee, deodorant, and diapers.

In the near term, Marisela intends to continue with the support of MiCrédito and Kiva to strengthen her general store and obtain new properties.
