Jose Julian's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to perform maintenance on his 4.62 hectares of coffee.
Jose Julian's story
José is a farmer who has worked growing coffee for 30 years. He lives in a distant community in Nicaragua, in the rural region of Jinotega. With the support of his wife and two children, he manages a 27 hectare plantation, of which 4.62 is dedicated to planting and harvesting coffee.
Although he has worked farming coffee for a long time, it was not until 2019 that he started to implement the criteria for fair trade certification as part of his commitment to completely improve his business.
This year he has made various investments in his farm, one of which was the construction of a wet mill, the loan for which was also through Kiva. Currently he is applying for a loan which will enable him to perform maintenance on his 4.62 hectares of coffee.
This is his tenth loan with PAC.
