Benkadi Group's story

Oumou is the group’s leader, representing all group members on the photo due to Covid-10. She is 49 years old, married and has five children ranging from 8 to 17 years of age, 2 of whom are in school. Oumou raises livestock to provide for family needs. She has been raising sheep for 15 years. She stocks up at local weekly markets.

Oumou is able to earn an estimated revenue of 45,000 to 65,000 [West African francs, XOF] per animal. After selling her livestock, she manages to cover everyday family needs such as healthcare and the school fees of her children. At present Oumou has two rams she is fattening up and provides veterinary care. She is a generous person and enjoys a good reputation in her village. Oumou would like to have another loan to expand her livestock business.
