Benkadi Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy basic ingredients for monkey bread to retail afterwards.

Benkadi Group's story

As a result of Covid 19, Maimouna has been chosen to represent the group on the photo. She is 36 years old, married and mother to five children, aged between five and 16 years old, all of whom are at school.

She has been selling monkey bread (fruit from the Baobab tree) and powder for eight years, and gets her supplies in the weekly markets in her town. Maimouna can make an estimated profit of 50,000 to 65,000 a month. With this business, she is able to provide for the family's nutritional needs, pay its medical expenses and her children's school fees.

Nowadays she has a shop containing some sacks of monkey bread from which she extracts the powder to sell. She is generous and has a good reputation in her village. Maimouna would like to other more substantial loans to expand her business.
