Hellen's story

Greetings from Makutano, Kenya!

Hellen, a 61-year-old mom of three schoolgoing children, is among the best of Juhudi Kilimo clients and has a good credit history. She is the true definition of a hard worker and a happy mother.

Hellen is a farmer in Makutano, an area endowed with natural streams, where she grows maize and also engages in dairy farming. She produces milk and crops for commercial purposes, as opposed to many rural farmers who produce for subsistence. Hellen also grows maize for food and sales. These commercial activities place her in a better position to engage in other agricultural businesses, which she does. She dreams that, through farming, she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all her children successfully complete their studies. She is a visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps progressing.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in the Makutano region of Kenya, and their staff is keen to ensure that hardworking women like Hellen benefit from loans that will enable them to purchase farming inputs.

Hellen is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds and fertilizer. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. Through this intervention, she will be able to improve the quantity and quality of her farm products and attract more buyers, leading to more profits.

Support her this year and make her life bright!
