A loan helped to restore the damage caused by the cyclone to their plantation.

Kyoko's story

Kyoko is 36 years old. She has two children, both of whom currently attend school. Kyoko helps her husband in running their plantation, where they grow taro, cassava, and yams. They have been running this business since they got married, and their family benefits from it.

Kyoko sells their crops from her own tent in town. Her market runs every day, and she earns daily from her selling. She and her family live in their own home. They are financially independent, and they have even helped their extended families with their earnings.

In April, a strong cyclone visited Tonga, destroying many many means of livelihood, including their plantation. Trees fell down and destroyed most of the crops. Kyoko is applying for a loan to restore the damage to their plantation.
