A loan helped to buy a buffalo for working on the farm.

Thanh An 31 Group's story

Tien, 38, is an ethnic Thai woman who is the mother of two children. Now she lives in a Thai traditional stilt house with her husband and 11-year-old daughter. Her 19-year-old son is studying in Ha Noi - the capital of Vietnam, where everything is very expensive.

Tien's family relies mainly on agricultural production for a living with some small scale activities such as cultivating rice, raising chickens, ducks, pigs, buffalo, cows and fish. In addition, Tien sometime also works as a construction worker to earn more money for her family. Recently, Tien decided to borrow a loan at Anh Chi Em program. This is her eighth time borrowing, and the loan will be used to buy a buffalo for working on the farm. Tien hopes this buffalo will help her reduce the cost of renting machines for the farm, so she could save money and have more money to take for her children. Tien wishes her children are always heathy and have a bright life.
