Kawral Mballocounda Group's story

Aissatou is shown in the photo holding a sheep. She is the president of the "Kawral Mballocounda" group. The name of this group is in Fulani, one of the most commonly spoken languages in the south of Senegal, and it means "understanding" in English.

Aissatou is 44 years old and raises livestock. She is experienced in this activity that she has been practicing for eight years. She is married and mother of five children aged five to 16 years old, four of whom attend school. Her husband is a farmer.

This loan is being requested by a group of 22 women who have all been working in the area of raising livestock for years. For her part, Aissatou will purchase sheep to build her breeding business. She gets her livestock and resells them at the weekly markets in her area. She helps her husband take care of the needs of their children. Part of the profits will be used to finance her children's education. Her wish is to have a big farm in her village.
