Seybou is holding the horn of a ram in the photo. Malian and 49 years old, he is married and father of six children, two of whom are in school. His wife is a housekeeper and she stocks cereals.

He works in the trade and raising of domestic animals. He buys and sells his animals in the weekly markets in his neighbourhood.

The commercial work and raising are cost-effective for him because they enable him to meet the health and education costs of his children. After sales he can have a profit of 20,000-50,000F over eight months.

He is often faced with problems of the illness and death of animals despite veterinary care, and the drop in price of merchandise.
