Avec Kawral Group's story

Madame Diariatou is the leader of "l'Association villageoise d'éparge et de crédit Kawral" [the Kawral Village Savings and Loan Association]. The word 'kawral' in the Fulani language means 'agreement'. This loan is intended for the "Avec Kawral" group, which consists of 21 women who joined together to request a loan.

Madame Diariatou is 46 years old, widowed, and the mother of five children. Four of her children are students and are her biggest priority. Mme Diariatou would like to buy sheep to increase the number of animals she has in her pen. She is a skilled livestock farmer, as are the other 20 women in the group. On average, they have more than 12 years of valuable experience.

She hopes that this investment will provide her family with a better quality of life and more economic stability. She also hopes it will allow her keep on growing both as a person and as a small business owner.

With her profits, she is able to cover daily expenses, pay for her children's school fees, and afford prescriptions when they are sick. She dreams of becoming her community's largest supplier of sheep during the holiday periods. However, she sometimes faces challenges related to sustaining her supply of animals.
