Noong Het 18 Group's story

Lan, 43, is an ethnic Thai woman who is married and has a 23 year-old son. Now, she lives with her husband and her son in a small, traditional stilt house in a small village of Vietnam's northwest mountain.

Lan is a tailor, while her husband is a security staff and her son is a hired laborer in the town. In addition, Lan also has some agricultural production activities such as growing rice and raising chickens and pigs. Recently, Lan borrowed a loan at the Anh Chi Em program; this is her 10th loan at the program. This time, the loan will be used to buy fabric for her tailoring business. Lan hopes that, with the continued support from the program, her business will be favorable and she will have more customers and good income, which she will use to pay for the family expenses.
