Digna Marcelina's story

Digna Marcelina is 65 years old, married, and has 5 children, all adults. She lives with some of her children, children-in-law and grandchildren. There are more than 14 people in her house in Jipijapa, a city known as the coffee sultana. It is a city greatly affected by the spread of COVID-19.

Digna Marcelina works at the household tasks and caring for her spouse. As the family is large, they began to plan to get the sustenance for all of them. During the quarantine, the family began a business. The decided to deliver food to different places in the city. They sold staple products door-to-door with the help of a three-wheel motorcycle one of her children has, always taking precautions to prevent illness.

With the loan money from the foundation, Digna Marcelina will continue with her business and will invest in the necessary food such as oil, rice, fruit, meat, etc., since she will establish a small store in her house.

Digna Marcelina's dream is that her children find jobs and to continue with the new business to help the family's finances.
