Las Esmeraldas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase pigs, make Nicaraguan tamales, and purchase 4 quintals of corn.

Las Esmeraldas Group's story

Marta Lorena (seated in front of the group) is hard-working and loves her business. She sells tortillas and Nicaraguan tamales, and raises pigs. "I began from scratch, I purchased 5 pounds of corn and now I use 70 pounds of corn and make up to 200 Nicaraguan tamales a week."

For 12 years she emigrated and learned how hard life is. A loan allowed her to be her own boss. Marta has been the secretary of the communal association Las Esmeraldas in León, Nicaragua.

With the loans, she sees her progress, she went from a cart where she sold Nicaraguan tamales to a truck which allows her to travel to nearby communities. A new loan will serve her to purchase more pigs and to make Nicaraguan tamales and purchase 4 quintals of corn.

Help Marta to continue prospering, she counts on your timely financing!
