Começar De Novo I Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a knitting machine that will help her increase her production of rugs and towels.

Começar De Novo I Group's story

The leader of this group is Maria (the lady with the pink face mask). She is an artisan and knits rugs and towels from cord.

She lives in one of the communities of São Paulo with her two children, three grandchildren, her husband and her mother, in a small house that was given to them.

When still very young, she and her husband migrated from the state of Minas Gerais and went to São Paulo to try to get better opportunities in life. Once in São Paulo, Maria faced great difficulties in finding a new job.

It was then that the church she attended invited her to take a free knitting course. She resonated a lot with this artisanry and made it her profession. Today, she has a room in her house that is solely dedicated to her work, and she has many customers who are loyal and good payers.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, her husband is unemployed and she needs to come up with money for the household expenses. Thus she is applying for this loan to buy a knitting machine that will help her to increase her production of rugs and towels, and hence generate more income.

She dreams of being able to withstand the COVID-19 crisis and that all will be well.

The group thanks their lenders.
