Beatrice's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and seeds, and improve her crop production, in order to sell the crops and use the increased profits to improve her living standards.

Beatrice's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Beatrice (a 35-year-old mom of three school-going children) is a hard-working farmer. She is a rural smallholder farmer from the Molo area of Kenya. Her main income sources are milk from her dairy farm and maize farming. The biggest problem that farmers from Molo face is the huge deficit in access to agricultural inputs. This means that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be.

Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Molo, like Beatrice, can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Beatrice is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her to meet the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve her quality of life. She also hopes to improve the condition of her house.

Help this woman to accomplish all her dreams with a loan! Beatrice really counts on your help and hopes for your warm response.
