Mercy Agustina's story

Mercy Agustina is 59 years old, a widow with four children. She lives with two of them and with her grandchildren in the parish of El Anegado close to Jipijapa. The inhabitants of this area work in farming and were very affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mercy Agustina was working at the bar of the high school for many years. Due to the quarantine, she has not been able to get money, but since she is very enterprising and knows about sewing, she started making overalls, masks and all types of protective clothing which were requested by her customers. She was able to move ahead with her household's economy. Also, her children who are adult would bring food and the needed materials to continue with her work.
The loan money will help Mercy Agustina to buy fabrics to sew aprons and protective clothes. Mercy Agustina's dream is to be healthy, and in the long run to buy an industrial machine to improve in making her clothes, and this way to be able to pay for her household expenses.
