Jacky Milena's story
Jacky Milena is a 42-year-old enterprising micro-businesswoman. She is a resident of the city of Cartagena. She has a beauty salon where she provides haircutting services, blow drying, straightening, hair coloring and more. She has more than 20 years' experience in this activity. Her business idea came about because she studied cosmetology in an academy in the city. She started as a manicurist who did house calls, and she also sold beauty products. Little by little her clientele grew and she saw the need to find a place where she could better serve the customers and offer her products. So the business has grown and she now has two employees, so she is also providing employment and wellbeing for their families. She is known in the area for her good service and for the quality of her products. She has particular, known clients who have been her clients over the years. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, she had to suspend her work and her income went down drastically due to health reasons. She is now taking out her first Kiva loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to invest in paying her employees, in paying utilities and in buying beauty products that people are asking her for, especially hair dye. Support her in this loan for her business.
