A loan helped to purchase more inventory for his shop.

Alex's story

Alex is a Rwandan entrepreneur living near the Mahama refugee camp in Rwanda. Alex studied electronics and communication, but when he was done with school he could not find a job in that field. He started helping his father in the family business, and he saw that it was his calling too.

After the establishment of the Mahama refugee camp in 2015, Alex got an idea of starting a shoe shop for adults and children. He saw that the refugees will need access to his products because they had just relocated.

Most of the businesses near the camp were grocery stores, so he thought of a unique business that has products that are needed in the community. He is requesting a loan to purchase more inventory so that he can satisfy the increasing demand.
