Belkis Raquel's story

Belkis Raquel is an entrepreneurial small business owner. She is a resident of the city of Baranquilla, a place where she lives with her partner.

She has a wholesale and retail soft drink business in which she offers all products relating to cafes, water, juices and soft drinks. She has been doing this work for approximately 2 years.

Her business idea was born out of necessity to make an income in order to help with personal and household expenses. Her customers are passer-bys, friends, referrals and cafes in educational institutions.

Together with her partner they carry out all the logistics and hire a truck to transport and deliver the orders to different places in the city.

Belkis raquel's goal is to invest in stock, cover the general costs of her business and security protocols. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic she had to cancel jobs and her income drastically diminished for health matters.

She is currently applying for her first Kiva loan through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation to increase her work capital and invest in the purchase of water, juices and other items.
