FALADIE, Koulikoro Region, Mali / Food

Abdoulaye's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy intrants [seeds, etc.] for his garden.

Abdoulaye's story

ABDOULAYE is a 54-year-old client who did not have an opportunity to go to school. He is married and the father of 6 children, 4 of whom are in school. He is a farmer/breeder and plans to use the loan proceeds to buy agricultural intrants (seeds, fertilizer, and herbicides). He purchases his supplies in the local marketplaces sells vegetables and peanut products at these same markets.

The income will allow him to cover his family's expenses (medical needs, school costs, clothing, etc.). His wife also raises goats. The problems he faces often have to do with insect damage, lack of rain, and a slump in sales.

ABDOULAYE has reached out to RMCR to finance his business and get it up to speed. In the future he plans to continue working with RMCR in the hopes of earning enough to cover his household expenses and improve the well-being of his family. What he likes about farming is the income he earns and the ability to use organic manure in his fields.
