A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving.

Katinia's story

Katinia is 63 years old. Her husband is a farmer, and they have six grown ups. Katinia and her family live at their own home. Currently she is running a business of weaving, and her two daughters are helping her with the weaving. Together they weave ta'ovala and mats and sell them out locally and also overseas. Katinia has been running this business for more than thirty years, and for those thirty thankful years, her business has been her family's primary source of income.

Now that she is growing old, she is still determined to run her business and make her own money. Katinia is applying for a loan to buy pandanus [raw material used for weaving] for her business. Her dream is for her daughters to hold on to this business and make money for their families from it.
