A loan helped toward construction of her residential house.

Grace's story

Grace is married and has six children, all living in Bundibugyo, Uganda. She grows and trades in cocoa, mainly buying and selling to agents and cocoa companies. She gets additional income from selling cassava flour in the markets. Grace started the cocoa business in 1991 to raise income for the family and pay school fees for the children. Her main challenge is limited capital. She hopes to plant more cocoa and support the family in meeting their essential needs.

Grace's family dream is to educate all her children and complete building her house. This compels her to work extra hard. She used her first loan to buy cement and sand for constructing her house. She is now requesting a second loan to buy timber and iron sheets, and to pay for labor to roof her house.
