Selaima's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy some pandanus for her weaving, and also hire men to help her husband with harvesting their yam plantation.

Selaima's story

This is Selaima, she is 55 years old, married and has three grown up children. Her husband is a priest in their church.

Selaima and her husband run a farming business, while Selaima also runs her own weaving business. They own a piece of land where they grow diverse types of crops such as yams, taro, cassava, etc. They also grow pandanus in their plantation to help with Selaima's weaving business.

Selaima runs her weaving business from her own home, where she mainly uses brown pandanus for her weaving, because it is easier for her. She sells her weaving products sometimes locally and sometimes to her relatives overseas.

When a cyclone struck Tonga in April, it destroyed the plantation including her pandanus trees. She has applied for a loan in order to buy pandanus for her weaving and also hire men to help her husband with the harvesting of their crops. She will sell their crops out of their front yard.
