Rawan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to refurbish a cafeteria and to buy equipment (a fridge, tables) and stock.

Rawan's story

Rawan is aged 37 with six children (ages 5 to 15). She is married to a municipal worker in Tsur Baher. She currently earns NIS2,000 per month as a part time secretary in the community centre.

The centre now wishes to revive its cafeteria, which Rawan seeks to run with the help of her family. Rawan has received business training from MATI (the training partner of the Jerusalem Interest-free Microfinance Fund). The space available can seat twenty, and the community centre will let Rawan run it with some help from her children for a modest rent of NIS 1,000 per month.

On an average day the community centre has some 150-200 visitors of all ages/ There are currently no refreshments on offer. Rawan seeks to borrow NIS 18,000, half for refurbishment and half for equipment. including a fridge. and stock. She aims to enhance her family’s income with this enterprise and to strengthen her community.
