Elza's story

Elza, age 44, is married and has 3 children. She has a secondary-school education. She is by nature a hardworking, honest, decisive and cheerful woman. She has been farming and raising livestock as her family's main source of income for more than 20 years. Thanks to her efforts and her husband's active help, her farm now has 2 cows, 20 sheep and 0.5 hectares of irrigated land on which she grows beans.
In order to further develop her farm, she has turned to Bai Tushum Bank for a loan in the amount of 50,000 som (KGS) to pay for field work, with the aim of increasing her revenue from the growing of organic beans. She plans to invest revenue from the loan in increasing her livestock herd, and to use part to improve her family's standard of living.
