Aurora Del Carmen's story

Aurora is a 40-year-old merchant, single, and the mother of two young children. She is the only breadwinner in her home, so she daily strives to get the income to support the growth of her offspring. She works selling fried fish, ceviches, soft drinks, and juices from a small space in her house. She has the full support of her family in her essential business.

Aurora has already had previous experience with the financing from MiCrédito and Kiva, through which she purchased cases of soft drinks, juices, and bottles of water. At this time, she is happy for having expanded her inventory, so much so that she has again chosen financing from Kiva and MiCrédito to purchase cheese, fish, seafood, cream, soft drinks, juices, and water. In the short-term, she plans to convert her business into a robust convenience store.
