A loan helped to expand her business by ordering more chickens to meet her customers’ demands.

Angela's story

Angela is a 30-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and two children in Kabwe district in Zambia. She sells chickens and clothes. Angela is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by ordering more chickens to meet her customers’ demands. She plans to use the profit she earns to help with her family’s needs and give back to her community.

Angela will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Alumnae Executive, focusing on the formation and strengthening of the CAMFED Association, a network of women who were supported to complete school by CAMFED. She will also lead CAMFED Association activities that give back to the community.
