Estrellas De Tzampoj Group's story
Antonia is a visionary woman who has more than one business, working alone and at other times including family. She is a 23-year-old single maiden who lives with her parents. With the support of her parents, Antonia was able to study for nine years. She is dedicated to embroidering and selling typical clothes. In addition to this, Antonia contributes to the family bakery business. Antonia wants to continue investing in both businesses and to achieve that goal she needs a first KIVA loan. She will use the capital to buy a variety of ingredients to continue preparing bread and also to buy new styles of typical clothing. Antonia is the president of the Communal Bank of Friendship Bridge "Estrellas de Tzampoj" and together with 7 women make up the group and live in the department / state of Sololá. Their participation in the group helps them develop and strengthen their capacities. They value monthly educational training meetings that help them develop their businesses that include embroidery and typical clothing sales, small bakeries, convenience stores, and potato chips sales. At this time of the coronavirus, they communicate with their Facilitator by cell phone or WhatsApp. The facilitator emphasizes the importance of washing hands, maintaining social distance, and disinfecting surfaces. This combination of loans, education, and health care is called "Microcredit Plus." Thank you, KIVA lenders, for helping Antonia and her friends!
