Nafor Demabo Group's story

Maimouna, 63 years old, is the president of the group, NAFORE DEMABO (the name of the group is in the peulh language and signifies importance, utility). She is the one in the photo and who is holding the sheep. She is married and the mother of seven children, aged 6 to 16, six of whom are in school. Her husband is a farmer. She is active in raising animals. This loan is requested by a group of 12 women who are in the animal raising sector. For her part, she plans to buy sheep at the weekly markets for resale, after fattening, in the same markets. With what she earns she helps her husband take care of the family. She hopes to put her children in good schooling situations. She wants them to go to the best schools in the country, care for them when they are sick and to eat their fill. She has a significant amount of experience in this principal business, which she has been doing for more than 20 years. The primary problem which she is often confronted with is the lack of vaccines for her issues because of the lack of means to buy them.
