A loan helped to buy sheep to resell.

Kawral Demabo Group's story

Madame MAIMOUNA is the president of the KAWRAL DEMABO group (the name of the group is in Fulani and means "agreement"). Madame MAIMOUNA is 54 years old and is uneducated. In the photo she is holding the sheep. She is married to a farmer and is the mother of 3 children, ages 6 to 12. Two of her children are in school.

This loan is for the KAWRAL DEMABO group, which is comprised of 10 women, all of whom are involved in breeding. With this loan Madame MAIMOUNA plans to buy sheep, fatten them up, and then resell them at the the weekly markets in her locale. She wants to develop her business and become the largest sheep breeder in order to meet the high demand during the big holidays, like Korité, Tabaski, etc.

With the profits she earns Madame MAIMOUNA is going to help her husband take care of their children's education, sustenance, and health.

She has a wealth of experience in this business which she has been engaged in for more than 10 years. However, at times she has to contend with problems resulting from a frequent lack of resources to buy vaccines.
