Maria Eena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay her employees' wages, to buy fabrics, threads, buttons and accessories.

Maria Eena's story

Maria has talented hands which, from a piece of material, can make beautiful clothing designs. She learned this trade from a friend's workshop, but afterwards she chose to become independent and, with some savings, she started her own sewing workshop. She has spent more than ten years designing for her customers. Her husband helps her serve customers and with publicity for the business to attract new customers.

She has currently applied for a Kiva loan, in conjunction with MiCredito, with which she plans to maintain a fund to pay her employees' wages, buy fabrics, threads, buttons and accessories to be able to cover her customers' needs. In the future, she would like to be able to have a production plant so she can employ Nicaraguan refugee women and change their lives with a dignified job.
