Patricia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy chickens and expand her poultry business.

Patricia's story

Patricia is a 23-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her uncle in the Isoka District of Zambia.

Patricia runs a poultry business. She received a Kiva loan before, and she repaid it. With her first loan, Patricia expanded her business and used her profits to support her family's basic needs and to re-invest in her business. Now she is requesting another loan to further expand her business by increasing the number and range of her stock. She plans to use the profits to re-invest in her business and support vulnerable children in school.

Patricia will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Association Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.
